The survey equipment owned and operated by our Surveyors ranks with the best in the world at present. We have chosen to only employ the best Surveyors in our company, use the best equipment available on the market, and associate ourselves with dynamic, reliable and hardworking companies.
We have a large range of equipment being used on our sites throughout Africa and have listed some of the G.P.S. systems, Total stations, and Hydrographic equipment coupled with the latest software including electronic field books using Logger, Model Maker, Road Maker, Trimble Geomatic Office and recently Trimble Business Centre programs.
This equipment and these programs ensure that our Surveyors are able to undertake any survey project in difficult situations enabling them to give our Clients the best service possible. We use this technology to ensure that our surveys are accurate, reliable and cost effective, giving us the edge on our competitors.
GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEMS.
We use and operate the Trimble Survey Grade global positioning system in all aspects of our surveys, from power line setting out, air survey control networks, engineering, topographical and hydrographic surveys. We have found the Trimble equipment to be robust, reliable and easy to use, with continued back up by our suppliers.
We have at present the Trimble 5700 base receiver with a number of R8 real time kinematic( R.T.K.) rovers, combined with the a second R8 base and R8 R.T.K rover we are able to undertake large scale topographical and road surveys in extreme conditions in a short period of time. Through our Associates we have access to the new Trimble R4 Glonass G.P.S system giving us better penetration into wooded, mountainous and difficult terrain .
TOTAL STATIONS AND ELECTRONIC FIELD BOOKS
Topcon reflectorless total stations – We have at present a number of Topcon long range reflectorless total stations being used on the Medupi Power station project. These instruments are used in difficult, hot, and high vibration areas of the steel structure on this project. The long range reflectorless capabilities of these instruments allow our Surveyors to check steel beams and columns safely and accurately 100m above the ground. These instruments are linked to the Logger Psion workabout, allowing the Surveyors to check all aspects of the job and to collect and download data accurately and efficiently.
Trimble M3 2” Electronic Total Station – We have recently acquired these on board storage, touch screen, reflectorless total stations to enhance our survey capabilities on the Medupi Power Station project. The on board storage of data and transfer to the Trimble Business Centre suite of programs has improved the productivity of our teams by giving them accurate and reliable results in the field.
Further to this we have all the equipment to undertake Bathomentric surveys on the sea, estuaries, rivers and lakes. We have recently upgraded our boats and trailers and purchased the Sonormite Echo Sounder which coupled to a Trimble 5700 base and R8 R.T.K. rover gives us seamless data of the underwater areas being surveyed.
